La
carta del P. Pío dice:
“Queridas
Niñas.
A
las nueve de esta mañana la Santa Virgen Maria me ha hablado de vosotras
queridas niñas, de vuestras visiones y me ha dicho de deciros.
"Benditas
niñas de San Sebastián de Garabandal yo os prometo que estaré con vosotras
hasta el fin de vuestra vida y vosotras estaréis conmigo hasta el fin del mundo
y luego unidas a mí en el gozo del paraíso".
Padre Pío’s letter says:
Dear Children:
At nine this morning, the Holy Virgin Mary talked to me about you dear girls and about your visions, and she told me to tell you this:
“Blessed girls of San Sebastián de Garabandal, I promise you that I will be with you until the end of your lives, and you will be with me until the end of the world, and then you will be united with me in the joy of paradise.”
Con
la presente os remito una copia del S. Rosario de Fátima que la Santísima
Virgen me ha ordenado de enviaros. Este Rosario ha sido dictado por la
Santísima Virgen y quiere que sea propagado para la salvación de los pecadores
y para la preservación de la humanidad de los peores castigos que el buen Dios
está amenazando.
Una
sola es la recomendación:
Rezad
y haced rezar, porque el mundo está en el camino de la perdición. No creen en
vosotras ni en vuestros coloquios con la Blanca Señora pero creerán cuando sea
demasiado tarde.

I am enclosing a copy of the Holy Rosary of Fatima, which the Most Holy Virgin has asked me to send you. This Rosary has been dictated by the Most Holy Virgin, and she wants it to be propagated for the salvation of sinners and for the preservation of humanity from the worst chastisements with which the good God is threatening.
There is only one recommendation:
Pray and make others pray because the world is on the road to perdition. They don’t believe in you or your conversations with the White Lady now, but they will believe when it is too late.

La
historia de la carta del Padre Pío.
Nos
lo cuenta el doctor Ortiz:
Se
encontraba en la cocina de Conchita don Félix López, ex alumno del Seminario
Mayor de Derio (Bilbao), que ahora ejerce de maestro en Garabandal.
La
niña recibió una carta que no entendía, y pidió que se la tradujese. Estaba en
italiano, y don Félix, después de leerla, dijo:
─
“Por el estilo, bien pudiera ser del Padre Pío.”
Se
trata de San Pío de Pietrelcina, capuchino de San Giovanni Rotondo, Italia,
mundialmente conocido por sus llagas, su don de conocimiento de las conciencias
y sus milagros.
The History of Padre Pío’s Letter
Dr. Ortiz tells us:
Don Félix López was in Conchita’s kitchen. He was an alumni
of the Major Seminary of Derio (
The girl received a letter that she didn’t understand, and she asked him to translate it. It was written in Italian. After don Félix read it, he said:
─ “With this style, it could be from Padre Pío.”
He meant St. Pío of Pietrelcina, a Capuchin in San Giovanni
Rotondo,
Conchita
le preguntó si él sabía las señas de dicho Padre, y al recibir respuesta
afirmativa, le pidió que le ayudase a redactar una carta para contestar y dar
las gracias. Terminada la carta, la dejaron sobre la mesa de la cocina, sin
cerrar.
Al
poco tiempo, Conchita entró en éxtasis y rezó el rosario. Después del éxtasis
le dijo el maestro:
─
“¿Has preguntado a la Virgen si la carta era del P. Pío?”
─
Sí, y me ha dado una contestación para que se la envíe.
La
niña subió a su cuarto, y bajó luego con un papel escrito en la mano; delante
de todos metió el papel dentro del sobre que tenía las señas del P. Pío,
escritas por el maestro, y la cerró.
Conchita asked him if he knew the address of this Priest, and when she received an affirmative response, she asked him to help her write a letter to answer him and thank him. When she finished the letter, she left it on the table, still open.
After a little while, Conchita entered into ecstasy and prayed the Rosary. After the ecstasy, the teacher said to Conchita:
─ “Have you asked the Virgin if the letter was from Padre Pío?”
─ “Yes, and she has given me an answer to send him.”
The child went up to her room, then came down with a small paper written in her hand. In front of everyone, she put the paper in the envelope that already had Padre Pío’s address, as it had been written by the teacher, and she sealed it.
El
9 de febrero de 1975 responde Conchita a unas preguntas:
─
Conchita, ¿se acuerda usted de algo, a propósito de esa carta que se dice
recibió del P. Pío?
─
Conchita: Ustedes saben, que tengo momentos en que me acuerdo bien de
muchísimas cosas de las apariciones, y tengo momentos en que apenas me acuerdo
de nada.
Acerca
de lo que ahora me preguntan, sí recuerdo que recibí por correo una carta
dirigida a mí y a las otras tres, Jacinta, Mari Loli y Mari Cruz.
Yo
quedé extrañada de lo que decía, y como venía sin firma, la guardé en mi
bolsillo hasta el momento de la aparición. Cuando apareció nuestra Santa Madre,
yo le enseñé la carta y le pregunté de quién era. Nuestra Santa Madre contestó
que venía de parte del P. Pío. Yo no sabía entonces quién era el P. Pío, y no
se me ocurrió preguntar más.
On February 9, 1975, Conchita responded to some questions:
─ Conchita, do you remember anything about that letter you said was from Padre Pío?
─ Conchita: You know that I have moments when I remember many things about the Apparitions very well, and I have moments in which I can’t remember anything.
About what you’re asking me now, I do remember that I received a letter in the mail that was addressed to me and the other three: Jacinta, Mari Loli, and Mari Cruz.
I was left intrigued by what it said, and since it was not signed, I kept it in my pocket until I had an Apparition. When Our Holy Mother appeared to me, I showed her the letter and I asked who it was from. Our Holy Mother answered that it came from Padre Pío. I did not know who Padre Pío was then, and it didn’t occur to me to ask any more questions.
Después
de la aparición, estuvimos comentando lo de la carta; y entonces un seminarista
que estaba allí me explicó quién era el P. Pío y dónde vivía. Yo le escribí,
diciéndole que cuando hiciera alguna visita a mi país, me gustaría mucho verle.
Me contestó con una breve carta, en que decía:
─
“¿Crees tú que yo puedo salir y entrar por las chimeneas?”
A
mis doce años, yo no tenía ni idea de lo que podía ser un monasterio.
─
¿Se acuerda usted del contenido de esa carta que mostró a la Virgen?
─
No me acuerdo bien de todo; pero sí recuerdo bien su comienzo:
"Queridas
niñas de Garabandal, esta mañana la Santísima Virgen me ha hablado de vuestras
apariciones..."
After the Apparition, we talked about the letter. A seminarian who was there explained to me who Padre Pío was and where he lived. I wrote to him, saying that when he visited my country, I would like very much to see him. He answered me in a brief letter, which said:
─ “Do you think I can go in and out through the chimneys?”
At twelve years old, I had no idea what a monastery was.
─ Do you remember the content of this letter you showed to the Virgin?
─ I don’t remember all of it well, but I do remember the beginning:
“Dear children of Garabandal, this morning the Most Holy Virgin spoke to me about your Apparitions…”
También
recuerdo que decía:
─
"Ellos, mucha gente, no creen en vuestras apariciones y que vosotras
habláis con la Santa Madre; cuando vengan a creer, será ya demasiado
tarde..."
También
recuerdo que decía la carta:
─
"Os prometo estar con vosotras hasta el fin de los tiempos."
Eso
es todo lo que yo recuerdo ahora.
─
¿Conserva usted esas dos cartas?
─
Sí. Creo que mi madre las tenga en España.
I also remember that it said:
─ “Many people do not believe in your Apparitions and that you are speaking with the Holy Mother; when they come to believe, it will be too late…”
I also remember that the letter said:
─ “I promise to be with you until the end of the times.”
That is all I remember right now.
─ Did you save these two letters?
─ Yes; I think my mother has
them in
Se
le preguntó al Padre Pío sobre si eran verdad las Apariciones de Garabandal.
Dice
Joey Lomangino:
Siempre
fuimos muy bien recibidos por los sacerdotes donde el Padre Pío. Fuimos donde
ellos y les dije:
─
Me gustaría hablar con el Padre Pío, ¿está bien?
El
sacerdote me contestó:
─
Ah, bueno, Joey.
Así
que hizo los arreglos necesarios y volvimos de nuevo más tarde para reunirnos
con él en el claustro.
Padre Pío was asked if the Apparitions of Garabandal Were True
Joey Lomangino says:
We were always very well received by the priests in Padre Pío’s order. We went to them and I said:
─ “I would like to speak with Padre Pío; is that all right?”
The priest answered:
─ “Ok, Joey.”
He made the necessary arrangements and we returned later to meet Padre Pío in the cloister.
Al
arrodillarme frente a él, dije:
─“Padre
Pío, ¿es cierto que la Virgen se está apareciendo a cuatro niñas en
Garabandal?”
Él dijo:
─ “Sí.”
Entonces
le dije:
─
“Padre Pío, ¿debo ir allá?”
Él
respondió:
─
“Sí, ¿por qué no?”
Fue
debido a que el Padre Pío me aseguró que la Virgen se estaba apareciendo allá,
y me permitió ir, que no tuve más miedo y fuí a Garabandal.
I knelt in front of him, and I said:
─ “Padre Pío, is it true that the Virgin is appearing to four girls in Garabandal?
He said:
─ “Yes.”
Then I said to him:
─ “Padre Pío, should I go there?”
He responded:
─ “Yes; why not?”
Padre Pío assured me that the Virgin was appearing there and
that permitted me to go because I wasn’t afraid anymore. I went to
Garabandal.
